Sanwo-Olu celebrates Tinubu’s birthday with 20,000 food packs for Lagos resident

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, marked President Bola Tinubu’s 74th birthday by distributing 20,000 food packs to residents across the state and issuing a personalised open letter to the people.

Some food packs were handed out at the De Blue Roof Event Centre, Agidingbi, Ikeja, while thousands more were simultaneously shared across all 20 local government areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

Christian and Muslim faithful also received food packs at the Chapel of Christ The Light and the Central Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja.

In his open letter, read by the Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Ojodu LCDA, Segun Fayemi, Sanwo-Olu described Tinubu as an “extraordinary leader” and framed the distribution as more than a birthday gift, a symbolic reaffirmation of support for the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Sanwo-Olu said the initiative highlighted the rewards of national reforms and urged residents to remain committed to the ongoing transformation.

He also prayed for Tinubu’s continued health, wisdom, and strength.

The Governor further acknowledged Tinubu’s legacy as Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2007, stating that the foundations laid during that period underpinned the state’s current economic progress and the Greater Lagos agenda.

State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, and Special Adviser on Political, Legislative, and Civic Engagement, Dr Tajudeen Afolabi, emphasised the significance of the initiative, ensuring food packs reached all segments of the population.

Sanwo-Olu described the celebration as a gift of “Renewed Hope” for Lagosians while reaffirming support for Tinubu’s leadership and national development efforts.
