Ochei urges unity, hope at Easter, calls for national renewal

President, Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Victor Ochei, has extended Easter greetings to Christians nationwide, urging unity, hope and renewed commitment to national development.
Ochei said in a statement that Easter symbolises sacrifice, love and victory over adversity, adding that the values align with Nigeria’s aspirations for peace, progress and collective resilience.
“This season reminds us that after trials come triumph. Nigeria will rise stronger if we remain united in purpose and faith,” he said.
He urged Christians to reflect on Christ’s teachings, embrace peace and compassion, and promote harmony across communities for sustainable nation-building.
“As a people, we must show love beyond words. Our strength lies in our ability to live together in peace in spite of our diversity,” Ochei stated.
He also charged the sporting community to uphold discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship, noting that tennis players must embody values that inspire national pride.
“Sports remains a unifying force. Through tennis, we can nurture character, inspire youth, and project a positive image of Nigeria globally.
“I urge Nigerians to remain optimistic and committed to building a better nation anchored on justice, unity, and shared responsibility.
“Let this Easter rekindle hope in every Nigerian heart and strengthen our collective resolve to build a nation we are all proud of,” he said.
The NTF boss also wished Christians a joyful, peaceful, and blessed Easter celebration.
