Adekunle Gold teases first official track with Olamide
Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has hinted at an upcoming collaboration with rapper Olamide, marking their first official track together.
The announcement came on April 6, 2026, via Adekunle Gold’s social media, revealing plans for a release on April 9.
The singer, who previously worked under Olamide’s YBNL label, shared a brief message suggesting a joint project.
In the post, he wrote: “First time ever, me and @OlamideFormation. April 9.”
Adekunle Gold, born Adekunle Kosoko, rose to prominence under YBNL in the mid-2010s with his breakout single Sade.
Despite their professional relationship at the time, both artists did not release any collaborative track while he was signed to the label.
He left YBNL in 2016 and has since built an independent career, evolving his sound and gaining international attention.
Olamide, meanwhile, has continued developing YBNL into a leading Nigerian music label, nurturing several emerging artists.
Speculation about the collaboration began in December when Olamide made a surprise appearance at Adekunle Gold’s concert at the National Theatre in Lagos, introducing him on stage.
With the April 9 release date confirmed, the track is expected to reunite the artists creatively for the first time since their early association.
Fans and industry observers are eagerly anticipating the release, noting the artistic growth both musicians have achieved over the years, making this collaboration a significant moment in their careers.
