Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo’s latest film, Return of Arinzo, grossed N104.8 million in its opening weekend, emerging as the highest-grossing movie during the Easter period.
The figure was confirmed on April 6, 2026, via social media posts by the filmmaker and the film’s distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, highlighting the movie’s performance at the Nigerian box office.
The film, which premiered over the Easter weekend, continued to attract cinema audiences nationwide.
In a post, Iyabo Ojo wrote:

The film serves as a sequel to the 2013 Yoruba production Arinzo, which explored themes of crime and personal transformation.

Beyond its box office performance, Return of Arinzo has also generated online discussions following a notable moment at its Lagos premiere involving actresses Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, which circulated widely on social media.
The distributor noted that the film’s strong performance reflects audience engagement, particularly across West Africa, as cinema attendance contributed significantly to its opening weekend success.
