Liverpool beat Fulham 2–0 as Salah scores in Anfield win

Mohamed Salah scored as Liverpool FC secured a 2–0 Premier League victory over Fulham FC at Anfield on Sunday, April 11, 2026, easing pressure on manager Arne Slot and boosting their push for a top-five finish.

Teenager Rio Ngumoha opened the scoring in the 36th minute after a driving run and assist from Florian Wirtz, finishing calmly with a low strike.

Just four minutes later, Salah doubled Liverpool’s lead, clipping home a neat pass from Cody Gakpo.

The goal was Salah’s first since announcing he would leave the club this summer, and only his sixth league goal of the season well below his usual output in previous campaigns.

Liverpool went into the match under pressure, having won just two of their last eight games and suffering recent defeats to Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

The win provides relief for Slot ahead of a crucial Champions League clash against PSG.

Fulham, who were playing their first match in three weeks, had early chances through Alex Iwobi and Oscar Bobb, while Harry Wilson also went close.

Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili made key saves to keep the visitors out.

In the second half, Fulham improved but failed to convert chances, with Sasa Lukic having a goal ruled out for offside, while Rodrigo Muniz and Emile Smith Rowe missed opportunities.

Liverpool also had chances to extend their lead through Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister, but held on despite late pressure from Raúl Jiménez.

The result gives Liverpool renewed momentum as they aim to secure European qualification and ease growing pressure on their manager.
