Okuama: INC refutes IPOB’s statement on reprisal attack on Army

INC, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mt Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha clarified that it had repeatedly condemned, in very strong terms, the attack on the military and the March 14′ killing of 17 of their personnel at Okuama community in Delta State.
The socio-cultural organisation described the incident as barbaric, sad and unfortunate and requested that the perpetrators of the heinous crime be brought to book, while urging the Federal Government and the military authorities to exercise restraint and be professional in the search for the perpetrators.
The group condemned the invasion of the communities and the destruction of innocent lives and property of defenseless residents.
INC refuted IPOB’s claim in its press statement that lgbomotoru community in Bayelsa State and Okoloba community in Delta State were part of Biafra, insisting that the two communities were part of the Ijaw nation and had no connection with Biafra.
The organisation emphatically dissociated itself from the actions of the IPOB and its planned avenge of the death of people in the two communities it was laying claim to, as the IPOB was on its own and not acting in the interest of the Ijaw nation, nor making decision on the planned action on behalf of and for the INC.
While saying that the federal government and the general public should take note of its position on the matter, INC. called on all Ijaw sons and daughters to remain calm and be vigilant.
