Remembering MEE: A Pioneering storyteller in Nigerian media

May Ellen Ezekiel Mofe-Damijo, known as MEE, established herself as a transformative storyteller, taking on multiple roles in the media industry during the 1980s and 1990s.
She was already a success in her late 20s and 30s.
MEE was married to actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) and founded Classique magazine, a platform that set new standards for glossy, engaging publications.
She also authored Dreammaker, Centerspread, Pilgrim’s Soul and Wind Songs through which she demonstrated her narrative skill and deep engagement with Nigerian life and stories.
On television, she made a mark with her talk show “Mee and You” on NTA, where she produced and hosted lively, thoughtful conversations about social issues, focusing on women, children and the less-privileged.
Born in 1956, she passed away on March 23, 1996.
