Nasarawa governor inaugurates N39bn twin flyover project in Mararaba

Governor Abdulllahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has inaugurated the construction of twin flyover bridges with two roundabouts in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area, a project valued at N39 billion.
The inauguration took place at Mararaba Gurku community, with Governor Sule noting that the project was the seventh major intervention by his administration on federal highways across the state.
Describing it as the “biggest intervention” among the federal highways projects, Sule expressed hope that President Bola Tinubu would personally inaugurate the flyovers upon completion.
The governor highlighted that the 2.6-kilometre twin flyovers are designed to ease traffic congestion along the Mararaba-Keffi corridor of the Abuja-Keffi highway.
He apologised to residents for the six-and-a-half-year delay, attributing it to the highway being a federal road and limited resources at the time.
“This project will feature two flyovers with roundabouts beneath them, the first at Abacha Road and the second at Technology Village junction in Mararaba Gurku.
”A high-speed freeway will run from the beginning of Nasarawa State to the international market, with no cross traffic,” Sule said.
The governor confirmed that Triacta Nigeria Limited has been contracted for the project, which is expected to take 16 to 18 months to complete.
At the event, Barrister Aliyu Madaki, Chairman of Karu Local Government Area, said the project would significantly reduce persistent traffic gridlocks in the Mararaba axis and stimulate economic activities.
He urged residents to cooperate fully to ensure timely completion.
Esu Karu, Pharm. Luka Panya-Baba, commended the governor’s visionary leadership, describing the project as a milestone that would simplify travel for road users.
Engr. Fersan Daou, Regional Manager of Triacta Nigeria Limited, assured the state government that the project would be completed as scheduled, expressing gratitude for the government’s confidence in the company over the past 20 years.
The project followed approval from the Federal Government in October 2025 to construct the twin flyovers, aimed at alleviating long-standing traffic congestion in Mararaba.
