Trump: Iran not ready for war resolution

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that while discussions with Iran are ongoing, Tehran is not yet ready to finalize a deal to end the war in the Middle East, now entering its third week.
Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump said, “Yes, we’re talking to them… but I don’t think they’re ready. They are getting pretty close,” without providing further details on the nature of the talks.
The conflict began on February 28, when U.S. and Israeli strikes killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and numerous top officials.
Trump expressed uncertainty about negotiating with Iran, citing the heavy loss of leadership, but insisted that the Iranian side “want[s] to make a deal badly.”
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected claims of ongoing talks, telling CBS’s Face The Nation, “We are stable and strong enough.
”We are only defending our people. There is no good experience talking with Americans, because we were talking with them when they decided to attack us.”
He emphasised that Iran has no interest in negotiations at this stage.
The situation has sparked global concern as the conflict continues to impact regional stability and international markets. Analysts warn that without diplomatic engagement, the Middle East could face prolonged turmoil.
