PDP signals strong push toward 2027 elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has restated its preparedness for the 2027 general elections, outlining a renewed strategy focused on national renewal and broad-based engagement with Nigerians.
At a recent interactive session in Abuja, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), led by National Chairman, Barrister Kabiru Turaki, SAN, met with members of the media and key stakeholders to discuss the party’s direction and priorities ahead of the polls.
The meeting, according to party officials, forms part of an ongoing nationwide effort to strengthen grassroots structures, deepen internal cohesion, and position the PDP for a strong electoral outing in 2027.
The party leaders emphasised that the engagement was designed to foster transparency, encourage dialogue, and reinforce confidence among supporters and the wider public.
During the session, the PDP reaffirmed its claim as one of Africa’s most established and well-organised political parties, noting that its extensive experience in governance places it in a strong position to offer credible leadership.
The party stressed that its preparations were guided by a clear objective: rebuilding Nigeria’s economy, restoring national pride, and creating sustainable opportunities for citizens across all regions.
The PDP further expressed confidence that, working in partnership with Nigerians, its vision for a more stable and prosperous country is attainable.
The party leaders underscored unity and collective resolve as central pillars of their strategy going into the next election cycle.
The statement was issued by Kabiru Ibrahim Dankasa on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party, reaffirming the party’s longstanding slogan, “Power to the People.”
