Sowunmi queries NNPCL over $6bn debt to oil marketers

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowunmi, has queried the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited over its debt to oil marketers.
After weeks of denial, the NNPC admitted on Sunday that it owed its petrol suppliers the sum of $6bn, saying it was facing financial strains due to petrol supply costs.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Sowunmi called for the immediate sack of the NNPCL Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari.
He also criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing it as incompetent and irresponsible.
