Insecurity: Obasanjo, IBB, Abdulsalami dialogue on worrisome situation

Three heads of state, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) and Abdulsalami Abubakar, with former National Security Adviser Aliyu Gusau in Minna, Niger State has held a closed-door meeting on how to tackle the worrisome insecurity in the country.

Obasanjo arrived in Minna on Sunday at about 4:15 pm, in a chartered flight from Edo State, where he had earlier paid a congratulatory visit to Esama of Benin Kingdom, Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, on his 90th birthday.

Upon arrival, Obasanjo proceeded directly to Babangida’s Hilltop residence, where Abdulsalami and Gusau were already waiting.

Though the details of the meeting were not made public, sources close to the former leaders revealed that it is linked to the rising spate of banditry and insecurity affecting Niger State in particular and other parts of the country.
