Ijaw nation, Nigeria lose a true legend – Senator Dickson

The Senator representing Bayelsa West at the National Assembly, Seriake Dickson paid tribute to the late icon, Pa Edwin Clark, reflecting on his impact and legacy.
 According to Senator Dickson, the late Pa Clark was a rare gem for the people of the Niger Delta region.”
Senator Dickson described Pa Clark as a mentor and outstanding leader, not just for the South-South geopolitical zone and the Niger Delta, but for the Ijaw nation and Nigeria at large.
He said, “His passionate commitment to social justice for the region and Nigeria’s unity and development will forever remain etched in our memories.”
”Pa Clark’s impactful life is evident in various sectors of Nigerian national life, thanks to his many years of distinguished national service.
He served Nigeria in several capacities, including as a member of an advisory committee to the military governor of the Mid-Western region, David Ejoor, and as a cabinet member during Samuel Ogbemudia’s administration.
As Commissioner of Education, Pa Clark played a pivotal role in establishing the Mid-West College of Technology, which later became the University of Benin.
This contribution highlighted his commitment to education and development.
Senator Dickson noted that Pa Clark’s uniqueness lay in his capacity to tell the truth. He described him as ”courageous and a fervent advocate for peace in the Ijaw nation.
”The Ijaw nation and Nigeria as a whole mourn the loss of a true legend.
Senator Dickson concluded, “May Pa Clark’s memory inspire future generations.”
