3 injured as one-storey building gives way in Legos

A devastating building collapse occurred in the Mushin area of Lagos State, Nigeria, on Sunday afternoon.
According to a statement signed by the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, a distress call was received at approximately 3:30 p.m. after a one-storey building under construction at 96 Ishaga Road gave way, trapping workers.
Three adult males sustained varying degrees of injuries in the incident. Fortunately, they were quickly rescued and received immediate medical attention at the scene.
 The Lagos State Ambulance Service then transferred them to a hospital for further treatment.
According to Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, responding agencies, including the Isolo Fire Station, LASEMA, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, Lagos State Ambulance Service, and Nigeria Police, were swiftly deployed to the scene.
Search and rescue operations were ongoing, with officials assessing the site to determine the cause of the collapse.
This incident follows another tragic building collapse in the Ojodu-Berger area last month, which resulted in one fatality and 13 rescues.
The building, housing a local restaurant, had been under construction.
Recall that in April, 2025,  a three-storey building collapsed in the Ojodu-Berger area, killing one person and injuring others. 13 individuals were rescued from the rubble.
In March 6, 2025,  a three-storey building under construction collapsed in Lekki Phase 1, resulting in two deaths and six injuries.
In July 25, 2024, a building under construction collapsed in Maryland, Lagos, killing five workers.
