Bode George denies PDP collapse in Lagos

Former PDP Deputy National Chairman, Chief Bode George, has denied claims that the party’s structure has collapsed in Lagos.
Speaking on Monday after a PDP stakeholders’ meeting, George likened the party to an Iroko tree or Lebanon oak, emphasizing its deep roots and resilience.
George described the defectors’ claims as “nonsensical” and rejected the notion that the PDP structure has collapsed into the APC.
He stated that the PDP would endure despite challenges, citing its deep roots across the nation.
George criticised the defectors, including former governorship candidate Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), describing them as mere caricatures.
He questioned their influence and relevance within the party.
George acknowledged the party’s current internal crisis but expressed confidence that it was solvable.
He noted that the PDP would no longer tolerate the imposition of candidates in future elections, emphasising the importance of democratic processes.
George urged President Bola Tinubu to reinstate suspended Gôvernor Sim Fubara and respect the people’s democratic mandate in Rivers State.
He warned against undermining democratic institutions and concentrating power, criticizing the President’s request to the National Assembly regarding key appointments in Rivers State.
