APC confirms ongoing consultations to replace Ganduje

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that consultations were ongoing to replace its former National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned last week.
Speaking on Sunday Politics, a Channels Television programme, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the party was moving swiftly to fill the leadership vacancy left by Ganduje’s exit.
“This is an extraordinary situation where the National Chairman of our party has resigned, and we will take steps immediately to fill that vacancy, ” he said.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, stated that the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will be convened imminently to initiate constitutional procedures and replace Ganduje.
“The NEC meeting of our party will be convened imminently. No date has been set yet, but I believe that in the coming days we will determine that date and proceed to convene the meeting to initiate constitutional procedures and replace our National Chairman who has just resigned,” Morka added.
Morka said the party was moving swiftly to fill the leadership vacancy left by Ganduje’s exit, with consultations ongoing to determine a date for the NEC meeting.
He assured that the process would be concluded “really soon,” with the party building on the progress made under Ganduje’s leadership.
Responding to speculation that former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso might be joining the APC, Morka said that no discussion is in sight, and the party has not made any determination on the matter.
Morka dismissed suggestions that there were internal issues affecting the party’s operations, saying the party is running smoothly.
He also dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu may have been unhappy with Ganduje before his resignation, saying such claims are speculative.
Ganduje’s resignation took effect immediately, with the party announcing that Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, will assume the role of Acting National Chairman pending the NEC meeting where a substantive chairman will be elected.
