Namibia has made history as the only country in the world where women occupy the top three highest government positions, with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Vice President: Lucia Witboo and Speaker of the National Assembly: Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila.
This was disclosed by a feminist group, Afrocania, who are advocating for greater women leadership roles in Africa.
The cited Namibia’s economic progress to buttress their points, saying, “What a man can do, a woman can do better.”!
According to the group, “Namibia has remained the first in Africa on the 2025 Global Gender Gap Report, as they have introduced reforms like leaner cabinet and youth-focused job programmes.
“Namibia’s female-led government has driven 4.0 per cent projected GDP growth in 2025, bolstered by fiscal discipline, green energy investments, and anti-corruption measures like enhanced ACC funding and transparent procurement”, they added.
