PDP remains the only true national party, says Fix PDP group

The Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria Group has reaffirmed its belief that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only truly national political party in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Abubakar Muktar from Katsina State, the group highlighted PDP’s democratic history, which spanned the length and breadth of Nigeria.
According to the group, PDP has the capacity, structure, and vision to unite the country and deliver purposeful leadership.
”Unlike other parties, PDP has never been reduced to a regional agenda or built on revenge politics,” the statement said.
The group contrasted PDP’s legacy with that of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and African Democratic Congress (ADC), which were hastily assembled out of anger, desperation, and a hunger for power, rather than patriotism or ideology.
The Fix PDP group noted that APC and ADC lacked the national cohesion and democratic legacy that PDP continued to represent.
According to the group, these parties are not built on a strong foundation of ideology or patriotism, which is essential for delivering purposeful leadership.
As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, the Fix PDP group is confident that PDP would rise again, reorganised, restructured, and ready to reclaim its role as a stabilising force in Nigeria’s democracy.
The group emphasised that PDP would uphold its principle of zoning and noted that the presidency should and would be zoned to the South, in the spirit of fairness, justice, and national balance.
The Fix PDP group urged all Nigerians, particularly the youth, to stay engaged and focused.
The group warned against being deceived by platforms built around personal ambition and propaganda.
While acknowledging that PDP is not perfect, the group emphasised that it remained the only party with a national soul, one that must be rebuilt by the people, for the people.
