ADC offers alternative to Nigerians in 2027 elections – Abdullahi

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been credited with preventing Nigeria from sliding into a one-party state, according to Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s Spokesman.
Abdullahi, a former Spokesperson for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), made this statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday.
Abdullahi emphasised that the ADC’s emergence as a coalition platform has provided Nigerians with an alternative choice for the 2027 elections, thereby halting the country’s drift towards a one-party system.
According to Abdullahi, Nigerians should be grateful that the ADC is offering them a viable alternative to the APC.
Abdullahi also criticised the APC for rolling out policies that have brought hardship to Nigerians.
This sentiment is shared by David Mark, the interim national chairman of the ADC, who said that the coalition of opposition parties would prevent Nigeria from descending into a one-party state.
The ADC has been adopted as the platform for a coalition of opposition parties, including prominent figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Nasir el-Rufai.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a prominent Igbo socio-cultural organidation, has also hailed the ADC’s emergence, stating that it has effectively halted Nigeria’s drift towards an unhealthy one-party nation.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo urges President Tinubu to reevaluate his governance strategies and prioritize evidence-based reforms.
The group emphasised the need for policies crafted by esteemed Nigerian economists, experts, and technocrats, prioritizing national interest over politically expedient loyalties.
According to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, some Northern governors are reportedly engaging with ADC representatives and may switch allegiance from the APC.
The ADC’s emergence has significant implications for the 2027 elections.
