PSG signs Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has officially announced the signing of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who joins the French club on a two-year deal until June 30, 2027.
This was confirmed in a statement by the club on Tuesday.
Itbstates jnter alia: “Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade.
“The club is thrilled she has signed and warmly welcomes her into its women’s squad, ” the club said in the statement.
Ajibade, born on December 8, 1999, in Lagos’ Mushin district, left Atlético Madrid as a free agent after a successful stint with the Spanish giants.
Ajibade rose to prominence at FC Robo Queens, earning the NFF Young Player of the Year award in 2018.
She played for Avaldsnes IL in Norway before joining Atlético de Madrid in 2021, where she made 25 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in the 2024-25 season.
As Nigeria’s captain, Ajibade led the Super Falcons to two Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles (2018 and 2024) and was a key figure at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics ¹ ².
“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe.
”This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere,” Ajibade said.
Ajibade’s signing is seen as a major boost for PSG’s attack, and she will join forces with fellow Nigerian star Jennifer Echegini.
Ajibade will test herself in France’s top division, aiming to make an immediate impact and contribute to PSG’s success .
