NNPCL GCEO reveals company is under attack amid reforms

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has revealed that the company is under attack from forces opposed to its ongoing transformation efforts.

He said five months as GCEO, was to ensure sustainable operations rather than temporary fixes.
He said, “Mr President doesn’t pressure me to do the wrong thing. That is why we are looking at the baseline to ensure whatever we are doing, the refineries work sustainably going forward.”
Ojulari emphasised that the company’s pipelines were now working, and crude oil theft has significantly decreased, leading to increased production.
In his remarks, PENGASSAN President Festus Osifo praised NNPC’s management for its partnership during the 2025 PENGASSAN Energy and Labour Summit in Abuja.
He commended the progress recorded under Ojulari’s leadership, noting improvements in crude oil production and reductions in oil theft.
Osifo assured that PENGASSAN was solidly behind the NNPC management and would collaborate to ensure stability in the system.
The NNPCL has made significant progress in reducing crude oil theft and improving production.
Despite these challenges, the NNPCL remained committed to its transformation efforts and delivering on its mandate..
