Saraki urges Kwarans to participate in ongoing voter registration exercise

Former Senate President and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reconciliation Committee, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has called on the people of Kwara State to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Senator Saraki described the exercise as a powerful tool that could shape the future of the state and the nation.
Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with party leaders, stakeholders, youths, and women from across Kwara during the Expanded PDP State caucus meeting held during the weekend, Saraki emphasised that registering to vote was crucial for determining the future of the state and the nation.
“Every new registration and every updated card is a voice secured for tomorrow,” he said.
Saraki further urged the people of Kwara State to come out in large numbers and participate in the voter registration exercise.
He also expressed gratitude to PDP members for maintaining peace and unity during the ongoing congresses at the ward, local government, and state levels.
Saraki, however, stressed that true progress would only come when such unity is matched with deliberate action, starting with registering to vote.
Saraki emphasised that the party would continue to remain strong in the state and the nation to provide good leadership in future elections.
He encouraged citizens to take advantage of the voter registration exercise to shape the future of their state and the country.
The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which started on August 18, 2025, aimed to register new voters and update existing voter information.
INEC has reported a strong start to the exercise, with over 1.3 million Nigerians pre-registering online in the first week.
Saraki’s call to action is seen as a way to encourage citizens to participate in the democratic process and shape the future of their state and nation.
