APC celebrates landslide victory in Rivers LG elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has celebrated its landslide victory in the Rivers State Local Government Elections, securing 20 out of 23 chairmanship seats.
In a statement on Monday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Chief Felix Morka expressed profound gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their overwhelming support.
Chief Morka attributed the party’s success to the strong confidence of the people in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
Morka further commended party leaders, members, and supporters for their hard work, which led to this significant victory.
The APC also appreciated the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and hitch-free election.
The party urged the newly elected local government officials to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering meaningful governance outcomes for the common good of all.
It emphasised the importance of working diligently to meet the expectations of the electorate.
The APC, however rejected allegations of foul play made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing them as “incendiary” and “highly irresponsible”.
Morka stated that Atiku’s claims were merely a smokescreen to distract the public from the poor performance of his African Democratic Congress (ADC) and an attempt to stir up tension and strife.
“Atiku’s tirade is no more than a smokescreen meant to distract the public from another miserable no-show record of his African Democratic Congress (ADC), and an attempt to stoke tension and strife over the Rivers local government election,” he continued.
The APC expressed confidence that the people of Rivers State would reject Atiku’s incitement to strife and instability, viewing it as unwise counsel from a serial presidential contender.
