Gravenberch, Ekitike fire Liverpool to victory in Merseyside Derby

Liverpool has maintained its perfect start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Everton at Anfield.
Goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike in the first half proved enough for the defending champions, who dominated the game before running out of steam after the break.
The Reds controlled the game in the first half, with Gravenberch scoring the opener in the 9th minute with a deft finish on the half-volley from Mohamed Salah’s cross.
Ekitike doubled the lead just before halftime with a clinical finish.
Everton pulled one back just before the hour mark when Idrissa Gana Gueye fired home from close range. However, Liverpool managed to see out a nervy finale to secure the win.
The Dutch midfielder was instrumental in Liverpool’s victory, scoring the opening goal and providing a driving force in midfield.
The striker scored his third goal in five Premier League games since joining Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Liverpool now sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League table after five games.
The win inflicted an unwanted record on Everton boss David Moyes, who has now failed to win in 23 trips to Anfield as a visiting coach.
