Chelsea edges Liverpool 2-1 in thrilling encounter

Chelsea secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 4, 2025, handing the defending champions their third consecutive loss.

Brazilian wonderkid Estevao scored his first Chelsea goal in stoppage time, securing the win for Enzo Maresca’s side.

Moises Caicedo opened the scoring for Chelsea with a stunning strike into the top corner in the 14th minute.

Liverpool equalised through Cody Gakpo’s finish after Alexander Isak’s clever touch from Dominik Szobozlai’s cross.

However, Estevao’s late winner proved decisive, sparking wild celebrations from Maresca, who was subsequently shown a red card for sprinting down the touchline.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s win over West Ham, puts them top of the Premier League table, one point ahead of Liverpool.

Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka scored the goals for the Gunners.

Also, Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko scored for Manchester United, giving manager Ruben Amorim a much-needed win.

Mohammed Kudus scored his first goal for Spurs, securing all three points for Thomas Frank’s side.
