Orji Kalu confident of Tinubu’s re-election, slams Atiku, Obi, and Jonathan

Former Abia State Governor, Orji Kalu, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, dismissing the chances of former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

Speaking on Wednesday on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Kalu stated that none of these politicians can defeat Tinubu in the next general elections.

“None of these people parading can defeat President Tinubu.

“We know ourselves. All of us know ourselves. What are they going to offer Nigerians that we are not offering?”

When asked if Jonathan, Atiku and Obi are among the politicians he referred to, he said “Whatever you call them, none of them can defeat Tinubu.”

Kalu, a senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, praised Tinubu’s economic policies and credited him with turning around the nation’s economy.

According to Kalu, Tinubu’s achievements speak for themselves, and he doubts that any of the mentioned politicians can offer Nigerians something different.

Kalu also warned Jonathan against contesting in the 2027 elections, citing the constitutional two-term limit.

“If I’m President Jonathan, I will not think of running for election because, first of all, he is constitutionally banned by law,” Kalu said.

Kalu’s comments have sparked reactions across the political divide, with some analysts questioning the senator’s motives.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, the political landscape is expected to become more heated, with various politicians jostling for position.
