NDLEA raids Lagos nightclub, arrests pretty Mike, ex-BBNaija star, others

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested popular Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike, along with former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, and more than 100 other patrons, during a late-night raid at Proxy Nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The operation, conducted around 3 a.m. on Sunday, followed intelligence that a drug-themed party was taking place at the upscale venue located at 7 Akin Adesola Street.
NDLEA officials reportedly infiltrated the event as early as 11 p.m. on Saturday before moving to disrupt the party in line with standard operational procedures.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, “Over 100 suspects, including the club owner, were taken into custody for screening.
”Cartons of illicit substances, including ‘Loud’ and laughing gas, were recovered from the club’s storage area and from attendees.”
Tuoyo Ideh expressed frustration over the raid on Instagram, claiming that guests were treated “like criminals” despite not engaging in illegal activities.
He later confirmed via Instagram stories that he had been released and promised to provide further details on the incident.
The Lagos operation forms part of the NDLEA’s broader anti-narcotics campaign across the country.
In recent weeks, the agency intercepted significant drug shipments at major airports and along highways nationwide.
At Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), operatives uncovered 70 parcels of cocaine hidden inside cocoa butter containers bound for London.
The 3.6-kilogram consignment was traced to a cargo agent and two accomplices.
Meanwhile, coordinated raids in Enugu, Kwara, Taraba, and Zamfara States led to multiple arrests and seizures of methamphetamine, tramadol, skunk, and skuchies.
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended officers involved in the Lagos raid, emphasising the agency’s dual approach of enforcement and public education to combat drug abuse.
“Our commitment remains firm. Enforcement must go hand in hand with education and public awareness to reduce drug abuse in communities,” Marwa said.
The arrested nightclub patrons are currently undergoing screening at the NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi as investigations continue
