Arsenal’s Gyokeres out of Slavia Prague clash with injury concerns

Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta has confirmed that striker Viktor Gyokeres will miss Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League away fixture against Slavia Prague due to a muscle injury sustained during Arsenal’s 2-0 Premier League win over Burnley.
Arteta said in a pre-match press conference that the full extent of the injury is still being assessed, but Gyokeres will definitely not play.
The Sweden international joins a long list of attacking absentees, including Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke, and Martin Odegaard.
“He hasn’t trained today. We need to do some more tests and scans in the next few days to understand the extent of the injury,” Arteta said.
Despite the injuries, Arsenal are aiming for a 10th consecutive win across all competitions and an eighth straight clean sheet.
Mikel Merino, who replaced Gyokeres against Burnley, may start in Prague.
Arteta also raised concerns about fixture congestion, urging the Premier League to reschedule Arsenal’s upcoming match against Everton to avoid playing two games in three days, highlighting player welfare.
Arsenal currently lead the Premier League, six points ahead of Manchester City and seven ahead of Liverpool, while remaining unbeaten in their opening three Champions League matches.
