Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirms commitment to Kogi Central, lists milestone projects

Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has expressed gratitude to the people of Kogi Central for their steadfast support and trust, pledging to continue delivering purposeful representation and inclusive development for the district.
Speaking at a constituency gathering, the senator described her journey as one defined by, “Faith, resilience, and service,” recalling the mandate she received two years ago to represent Kogi Central in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Standing here today fills my heart with overwhelming gratitude.
“Two years ago, you my brothers and sisters, my mothers and fathers, my sons and daughters, entrusted me with the sacred responsibility of being your voice in the Senate. I remain eternally grateful for that faith, ” she said.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan first thanked God for His grace and guidance through challenges, and extended appreciation to her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, “For his love, patience, and quiet strength,” acknowledging his unwavering support throughout her political journey.
She also paid heartfelt tribute to the people of Okene, Adavi, Okehi, Ajaokuta, and Ogori-Magongo for standing firm through difficult times, particularly during her six-month suspension from the Senate.
“Despite an unjust suspension, my legitimacy as your senator remained intact because you resisted a despicable ploy to recall me.
“That resistance renewed my commitment to serve and to ensure that Kogi Central never feels left behind in Nigeria’s development story, ” she said.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan outlined several projects executed across the five local government areas, during her period of suspension:
Two new modern markets in Okene and Okehi, each housing 80 shops, an abattoir, electricity, water supply, and sanitary facilities.
A new primary and secondary school complex with teachers’ quarters, power, and water in the Fulani settlement of Osaka/Abobo, Adavi LGA.
14 solar-powered water systems — ten with 50,000-litre capacity and four with 20,000 litres — spread across the five LGAs.
2,000 smart solar-powered streetlights installed in communities such as Adogo, Ebiya, Gergegu, Ogaminana, Nagazi, Kuroko, Obangede, Okaito, and others.
Police housing quarters and a patrol van for Ihima Police Station, alongside an electric speed bike for security operations.
Eight 500kVA ABB transformers distributed across the district.
Empowerment of 2,000 constituents with tools including deep freezers, gas cookers, sewing machines, grinding machines, pesticide sprayers, cobbler tools, fish ponds, and solar-powered vehicles.
Training and empowerment of 230 women and youths during her suspension, providing 80 DJI drones, 50 HP laptops, renewable energy equipment, and advanced fabrication tools.
She also noted the commissioning of an NLNG-donated General Electric CT Scan machine at the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, describing it as a major healthcare milestone for the state.
Highlighting her long-term vision for sustainable development, the senator announced the registration of the Kogi Central People’s Company, a not-for-profit entity modeled after Singapore’s People’s Association.
“The company will promote communal ownership, manage local assets, and drive charitable interventions for the collective good of Kogi Central,” she said.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her pledge to remain accessible and accountable, ensuring that federal policies and budgets reflect the aspirations of Kogi Central residents.
“My mission is not only to represent you in Abuja, but to make sure your heartbeat echoes in every policy and reform.
“I will continue to serve with courage, compassion, and integrity, ” she assured.
Addressing women and youths, she urged them to believe in their potential and stay engaged in nation-building, while thanking elders and supporters across the five LGAs for their prayers and solidarity.
“This celebration is not about me — it is about us, about the journey we have begun and the future we are building together,” she said.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan offered prayers for Kogi Central, Kogi State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
