Mustapha Shu’aib resigns from NNPP to explore new political alignment

Rt. Hon. Mustapha Shu’aib, a key ally of former Kano State governor and NNPP presidential candidate Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has resigned from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to pursue a fresh political direction.

Shu’aib, who was the NNPP candidate for Bida North Constituency in the Niger State House of Assembly election and the youngest candidate in the 2023 general elections, stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, community leaders, and supporters across his constituency.

Sources described the resignation as a strategic repositioning rather than a withdrawal from politics, aimed at expanding his political reach and strengthening his ability to serve his constituents.

The move is expected to reshape political calculations in the North Central zone of Nigeria.

Renowned for being a disciplined and people-oriented politician, Shu’aib has championed youth inclusion, good governance, and grassroots development.

His involvement in the Kwankwasiyya movement established him as a significant voice within the NNPP.

Supporters viewed Shu’aib’s decision as a sign of political maturity and a clear vision for the future.

Observers believe that as he seeks a new political alignment, he will continue to be a relevant and influential figure in Niger State and the broader North Central political landscape.
