APC aims to make every Nigerian a member, says Yilwatda

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that the party’s goal is to expand its membership nationwide by demonstrating effective governance.

Yilwatda spoke on Tuesday in Jos, Plateau State, during a rally organised to welcome Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the APC.

He also highlighted the party’s current control of 29 states and expressed confidence in gaining more supporters.

He attributed the party’s growing influence to strong performance at both federal and state levels, citing improved state revenues, economic recovery, and infrastructure development under APC-led administrations.

He further encouraged governors, lawmakers, and citizens to align with President Bola Tinubu to accelerate national development.

The APC chairman also predicted Plateau State could become a one-party state, noting that APC now controls the majority of local governments and the State House of Assembly.

In a pointed message to opposition members, Yilwatda described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as “drowning” and urged its members to defect, offering the APC as a “life jacket” to rescue political careers.

The statement underscores the party’s strategy of consolidation and recruitment ahead of future elections, emphasizing governance performance as a key tool for political expansion.
