Police recruitment: PSC, NPF to commence screening March 9

The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have fixed March 9 to begin physical and credential screening of applicants in the ongoing recruitment of constables.

Spokesman for PSC, Mr Torty Kalu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

Kalu said the screening exercise would run from March 9 to April 18 across the country.

He urged applicants who successfully completed the online registration to log in to the recruitment portal to check their status and print required documents.

The documents include guarantors form, application submission slip, invitation slip, credentials screening form and physical screening form.

Applicants are to present the invitation slip bearing their assigned table and the credential screening form at the screening venue.

Other required items include original National Identity Number printout or card issued by NIMC, O’ Level certificate and birth certificate or declaration of age.

Candidates must also present LGA or State of Origin certificate and trade test certificate for specialists where applicable.

Kalu said applicants should submit original and duplicate copies of credentials in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.

He added that candidates must appear in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts and white stockings.

According to him, screening will take place at designated venues in each state and the FCT as indicated on invitation slips.

Kalu stressed that the recruitment exercise is free and does not require any payment.

He quoted PSC Chairman, Mr Hashimu Argungu, as assuring that the process would be transparent and accountable.

Argungu warned applicants to beware of impostors and scammers seeking to exploit the recruitment exercise.

He said anyone found engaging in fraudulent activities would be arrested and prosecuted.
