Atiku regrets role in APC formation, cites national decline

Former Vice President and presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep regret over his role in the creation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2014, citing worsening national conditions under the party.

Speaking in a recent address, Atiku said, “I regret being among those who helped form the APC in 2014 to remove Goodluck Jonathan from office.

”Today, the situation has become even worse under the present administration.”

Reflecting on the 2014 political exercise, he cautioned against repeating past mistakes.

“We came together and formed APC because we felt democracy was faulty in 2014,” he said.

Atiku highlighted that the nation’s challenges remain unresolved.

“Only for us to end up at the same position we found ourselves in 2014.

”Back then, the major challenges were insecurity, the economy, and so on. Now it is even worse.”

He called for renewed commitment to democratic principles.

“We must ensure that we restore true democracy to our country,” Atiku urged.
