President Tinubu pledges victory over terrorism, supports Armed Forces

President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to defeating terrorism and other threats to Nigeria’s stability, declaring confidently, “We will win. Nigeria will prevail.”

The assurance came on Friday evening during an interfaith breaking of fast hosted at the State House, Abuja, which brought together members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

Tinubu’s remarks followed the recent terrorist attack in Ngoshe, where he personally reached out to Babagana Zulum to express solidarity with the affected community.

The President praised military personnel and other security operatives for their sacrifices in combating terrorism and banditry, emphasizing that the welfare of service members and their families remains a top priority.

He also acknowledged operational challenges, including accommodation shortages, promising government interventions to improve conditions.

Reflecting on economic reforms, Tinubu admitted the administration faced turbulence at its inception but expressed optimism, stating, “We are out of the dark tunnel.

”We are seeing the daylight and bright light ahead of us.”

He also highlighted the symbolic unity of the interfaith event, coinciding with the Muslim Ramadan fast and Christian Lenten season, as a reminder of Nigeria’s diversity and potential for harmony.

In his remarks, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu reaffirmed the loyalty of the Armed Forces to the President, praised the upward review of military salaries and allowances, and pledged continued dedication to defending Nigeria’s democracy.

The interfaith gathering served both as a morale booster for security personnel and a demonstration of national unity amid ongoing security challenges.
