NiDCOM issues hotlines for Nigerians amid Middle East tensions

Amid rising tensions in the Middle East following the escalating conflict between Iran, Israel, and allied forces, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has released emergency hotline numbers to support Nigerians living in or traveling through affected countries.

In a notice shared on its official social media platforms, NiDCOM urged all Nigerians in the region to save the emergency contacts and immediately reach out to the nearest Nigerian embassy or consulate in cases of distress or imminent danger.

The advisory specifically covers Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Tel Aviv, Doha, Beirut, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Amman, each assigned dedicated numbers to provide rapid consular support.

NiDCOM emphasised that these lines are intended to respond to evolving security situations, offering guidance and urgent assistance where necessary.

Commission officials also advised Nigerians abroad to remain vigilant, follow local safety instructions, and avoid relying on unverified sources of information.

Citizens were reminded to stay in close contact with Nigerian missions for updates and practical guidance on navigating the ongoing crisis.

The move comes amid growing concerns over the wider implications of the conflict, which has raised alarms about the safety of foreign nationals in Gulf and Levant countries.

NiDCOM stated that its priority is to ensure the security, well-being, and continuous support of Nigerians abroad during this volatile period.
