Dowman leads Arsenal past Everton in dramatic win

Teenage sensation Max Dowman delivered a memorable performance as Arsenal F.C. defeated Everton F.C. 2–0 in a tense Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

The 16-year-old midfielder sealed the victory in dramatic fashion by scoring in the seventh minute of stoppage time, capping a late surge by Arsenal after a difficult encounter against a resilient Everton side.

The win strengthened Arsenal’s push for their first Premier League title in over two decades and extended their impressive run of form in the competition.

Arsenal, coached by Mikel Arteta, struggled for much of the match to penetrate Everton’s disciplined defence.

The visitors maintained a compact structure and frustrated the home side for nearly the entire game.

Despite controlling possession and creating several half-chances, Arsenal found it difficult to break through Everton’s defensive lines.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 89th minute.

A cross from Dowman into the penalty area caused confusion in Everton’s defence, and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford failed to deal properly with the ball.

The loose ball was recovered near the six-yard box by defender Piero Hincapié, who quickly set up Viktor Gyökeres for a simple finish into an empty net.

The late goal sparked jubilant celebrations among Arsenal players and supporters, who sensed the importance of the moment in the club’s title chase.

Historic goal from teenage star
Everton pushed forward in the dying moments in search of an equaliser, even sending goalkeeper Pickford upfield for a corner kick during stoppage time.

However, the move backfired when Arsenal quickly launched a counter-attack after clearing the ball.

Dowman collected the ball near the halfway line and sprinted toward Everton’s unguarded goal before calmly finishing to seal the victory.

The goal made the young midfielder the youngest scorer in Premier League history and also the youngest player ever to score for Arsenal in the competition.

Arsenal extend lead in title race
The victory moved Arsenal 10 points clear at the top of the league table ahead of second-placed Manchester City F.C., who were scheduled to face West Ham United F.C. later the same day.

Arsenal, who last lifted the English top-flight title in 2004, are hoping to end a 22-year wait for another league crown.

The team has also remained active on several fronts this season. Arteta’s side is still competing in the UEFA Champions League and the EFL Cup.

They are set to face Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie after the first match ended 1-1.

Shortly afterward, Arsenal will meet Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Elsewhere in the league, Chelsea F.C. endured a disappointing result after losing at home to Newcastle United F.C..

The decisive moment came when Anthony Gordon scored following a well-worked attacking move involving Tino Livramento and Joe Willock.

The defeat added to a difficult week for Chelsea, who had earlier suffered a heavy loss to Paris Saint‑Germain F.C. in European competition.

In other matches, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Sunderland A.F.C., with Yankuba Minteh scoring the decisive goal.

Meanwhile, Burnley F.C. and AFC Bournemouth played out a goalless draw, a result that left Burnley still struggling near the relegation zone while Bournemouth missed an opportunity to strengthen their bid for a European qualification spot.

With just weeks remaining in the season, Arsenal’s dramatic victory has further intensified the title race and reinforced the growing belief among supporters that the club could finally reclaim the Premier League crown.
