Adeleke condemns APC threats ahead of Osun polls

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun, has condemned the Osun chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for threatening to deploy federal power to influence the August 15 elections.

The governor insists that such power should serve good governance not election manipulation.

Speaking to leaders and ward officials of the Accord Party across all 332 wards, Adeleke clarified that President Bola Tinubu had no involvement in the APC’s threats.

“The president is using federal power to deliver good governance, through projects like the Ibadan-Ilesa road reconstruction, student loan programs, and the pledge to institute state police,” he said.

Adeleke urged Osun voters to remain steadfast, stressing that “only electoral bandits boast of rigging in a democracy. Your votes and God will decide the winners.”

Hon Lasun Yusuf, addressing party leaders, called for house-to-house mobilization and vigilance to protect votes, while Senator Olu Alabi urged elders to prepare for electoral success in their local areas.

The PDP reaffirmed its endorsement of Adeleke, with Hon. Sunday Bisi directing party structures to support Accord’s campaign.

The Speaker Adewale Egbedun and assembly members encouraged over two million new Accord registrations, pledging Adeleke’s re-election on August 15.
