NDC launches online membership registration platform By Ajiri Daniels

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has introduced a digital membership registration portal in Abuja, signalling a strategic push to broaden participation and reinforce its organisational framework nationwide.

The launch event was presided over by the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, alongside the National Chairman, Cleopas Moses, and other senior party officials on Monday in Abuja.

Addressing attendees, Dickson described the initiative as a milestone in the party’s efforts to modernise its operations and make political engagement more accessible to Nigerians both within the country and abroad.

He explained that the online platform would simplify the registration process, allowing prospective members to enrol seamlessly while ensuring accurate documentation and efficient data management.

He expressed appreciation for the widespread support the party has received since its formation, noting that many Nigerians have shown enthusiasm and willingness to join the movement.

According to him, despite being less than two weeks old, the NDC has already generated significant national interest.

He emphasised that the party is designed as an inclusive, pan-Nigerian platform with structures already in place across states, local government areas, and wards.

Dickson stressed that the party is not regionally driven but positioned as a national movement aimed at uniting Nigerians under a common democratic vision.

To ensure inclusivity, he disclosed that the digital registration system would be complemented by physical forms.

These would be distributed through party officials at various levels to accommodate individuals in rural areas or those with limited access to digital technology.

He expressed optimism that the party would meet all registration requirements within the stipulated timeframe, citing the mobilisation of officials nationwide to support the exercise.

Commenting on the country’s political atmosphere, Dickson said growing dissatisfaction among citizens is fuelling the demand for credible alternatives.

He noted that many Nigerians are eager for meaningful change and are actively seeking new political platforms.

He described the NDC as a fresh, crisis-free organisation focused on ideological politics and national development, positioning it as a viable vehicle for transformation.

Drawing a biblical comparison, Dickson likened the party’s emergence to the story of Noah’s Ark, urging Nigerians to recognise early signs of change and align with the movement before it gains full momentum.

In his remarks, Moses, said the digital platform would significantly ease the process of joining the party while enhancing participation in its programmes.

He added that digitising membership registration would promote transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness.

Moses further noted that the initiative is expected to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and help the party build a robust membership base ahead of future political activities.

The party encouraged interested Nigerians to register through its official website and obtain membership credentials via the newly launched digital system.
