Fubara urges APC South-South leaders to unite

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on the South-South leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to embrace unity and collective action in pursuit of the party’s regional ambitions.

This is contained in a statement issued by Onwuka Nzeshi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Rivers State.

Speaking at the party’s South-South Zonal Congress held in Asaba, Delta State, the governor stressed that cohesion and a shared vision would be critical to strengthening the APC’s electoral prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He noted that success within the party could only be achieved through collaboration, urging newly elected leaders to recognize the weight of their responsibilities.

According to him, the moment presents both an opportunity and a challenge, requiring dedication and commitment to deliver results for the party.

Fubara expressed confidence in the capacity of the newly elected zonal leadership to meet expectations, adding that their emergence signals a positive direction for the APC in the region.

He also commended the Delta State Government for hosting the congress, while expressing optimism about the South-South’s political future.

The congress, which drew prominent APC stakeholders from across the zone, witnessed the re-election of zonal leaders through a consensus process.

The returning officials were immediately sworn in during the event.

Among the dignitaries present were the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, alongside several state governors including Douye Diri, Monday Okpebholo, Umo Eno, Bassey Otu and Sheriff Oborevwori.

Members of the National Assembly and representatives from State Houses of Assembly across the South-South zone were also in attendance at the gathering.
