Ondo governor dismisses all political aides, plans new appointments

In a major restructuring of his administration, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has dismissed all political aides, including Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants, with immediate effect.
The decision effectively dissolves the existing structure of political aides in the state government.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, who said the move is part of efforts to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery across the state.
“In the ongoing drive to enhance efficiency and deepen service delivery, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has relieved all political aides of their duties with immediate effect,” the statement read.
While acknowledging the contributions of the affected aides, the governor wished them well in their future endeavours.
The statement also revealed plans to appoint approximately 1,000 new aides, drawn from the 203 wards across the state’s 18 local government areas.
The appointments are aimed at strengthening coordination and injecting fresh capacity into the administration.
