Dickson hails NDC surge, welcomes new defectors

Senator Seriake Dickson, founder of National Democratic Congress (NDC),
has applauded the rapid rise of the party describing the party’s early expansion as a clear sign of its growing national appeal.

“I am impressed by the giant strides the NDC is making across Nigeria in just about a month of its emergence.

“It is particularly encouraging to note that Dr. Shamsuddeen Haido, formerly of the APC and ADC, has officially joined the NDC as a gubernatorial aspirant in Sokoto State and is already spearheading the party’s progress there,” he said.

Dickson noted that the momentum recorded in Sokoto reflected a wider national trend, with Nigerians across different demographics embracing the party’s ideology.

“Just as in Sokoto State, similar momentum is building across all states of the federation.

“Worthy compatriots men, women, and youths are increasingly making the NDC their political home.

”This clearly shows that the NDC is a truly pan-Nigerian ideological political party and movement, ” he said.

The senator further highlighted recent political realignments in Kebbi State, where seasoned politicians from multiple parties have joined the NDC.

“The NDC is growing rapidly, and due to its appeal, Nigerians from all walks of life across the country are rushing to join our ideological party.

“Today, in the company of some National Officers of the NDC, it was a pleasure to receive a team of experienced politicians from Kebbi State who are decamping from their various parties, the ADC, PDP, and the APC—to strengthen the NDC in Kebbi.”

He commended the new entrants for their decision and encouraged them to uphold democratic values within the party structure.

“I thanked them for identifying with our party and urged them, in line with NDC ideals, to build an inclusive and democratic party,” Dickson added.

Reaffirming his confidence in the party’s direction, the former Bayelsa governor expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their growing support.

“I also again thank Nigerians for their confidence in the NDC and its ideology, and enjoin all Nigerians not to give up on our democracy and our nation,” he said.

Positioning the NDC as a viable political alternative, Dickson criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), urging citizens seeking change to rally behind the emerging platform.

“The NDC is the clear alternative to this ruthless, undemocratic, and oppressive government of the ruling party, the APC.

“I urge all who disagree with the APC to join the NDC and channel their energies into supporting its growth so we can, together, provide credible candidates who will restore Nigeria, ” he said.

He call for political plurality and active citizen participation.“Say no to one-party rule in Nigeria or in any state.”
