ADC dismisses reports of David Mark’s resignation

The African Democratic Congress faction led by David Mark has rejected claims that he has stepped down as its National Chairman, describing such reports as “false and malicious.”
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, the party called the claims “an insidious fabrication” orchestrated by “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists.”
It reiterated that Senator Mark remained the substantive leader of the party, with no plans to resign either by him or the party leadership.
“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement said.
The ADC emphasised that its leadership is united, focused, and committed to strengthening democratic values and providing credible leadership to Nigerians.
The party also warned that attempts to destabilise it were motivated by fear of its growing influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.
Reaffirming its commitment to democratic ideals, the party urged Nigerians to disregard the rumors and remain confident in its leadership and stability.
