ADC ‘dead’ in Kano — Gov Yusuf

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) lacks political relevance in Kano State, describing the party as “dead on arrival” due to internal crises and weak public support.

The position was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.

Speaking to supporters shortly after returning from Abuja, where he attended key political engagements, the governor said the ADC has been weighed down by unresolved internal disputes, which he noted have significantly weakened its structure.

According to him, the party’s ongoing crisis has reduced its ability to compete in Kano’s political environment, while also eroding its chances of gaining meaningful traction among voters.

Yusuf also argued that beyond internal wrangling, the ADC lacks the grassroots appeal and credibility required to establish itself in the state’s dynamic political landscape.

He maintained that Kano remained firmly under the control of the ruling political structure, which he said continues to enjoy overwhelming support from residents.

The governor urged his supporters to remain united and vigilant, stressing the importance of consolidating the achievements of his administration.

He also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to governance and development, assuring citizens that delivering on campaign promises remains a top priority.

“We will rally solid support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and I am very optimistic that APC will, in sha Allah, win all elective positions in 2027.

“Our partnership with the Federal Government has already been yielding positive results, with interventions in infrastructure and social safety initiatives.

”We will deliver APC with a landslide victory,” the governor said.
