Atiku declares presidential bid a national movement

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described his presidential ambition on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a national movement aimed at restoring hope and prosperity to Nigeria.

Atiku made the declaration in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Thursday following the submission of his nomination and expression of interest forms.

The former vice president said the formal submission of the documents marked a significant step in what he described as a determined journey to rebuild the country and return it to the path of progress.

According to him, the ambition goes beyond politics and reflects a collective mission by Nigerians seeking national renewal and economic recovery.

“The march to restore prosperity and better days to our beloved nation took a firm and decisive step forward today,” Atiku said.

“This is more than a political journey; it is a national movement rooted in hope, renewal and the collective resolve to save Nigeria from despair.”

He called on Nigerians across ethnic, religious and regional lines to support the movement and work together toward rebuilding the country.

“I call on all Nigerians, regardless of region, faith or background, to join us in this noble cause.

“Together, we will restore the promise of our nation and bring good times back again,” he said.

Atiku further appealed for unity among citizens, stressing the need for collective commitment in restoring the nation’s pride and strengthening democratic governance.
