APGA clears 155 aspirants in Anambra

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced the successful screening of 155 aspirants ahead of its 2026 primary elections in Anambra State.
The development is contained in a statement issued on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ejimofor Opara, and made available to journalists in Awka.
According to the statement, the cleared aspirants comprise candidates seeking nomination for senatorial, House of Representatives and Anambra State House of Assembly seats.
The party disclosed that eight aspirants were cleared to contest for senatorial positions, while 40 aspirants were approved for the House of Representatives primaries.
It further stated that 107 aspirants successfully passed the screening process for the Anambra State House of Assembly elections.
APGA directed all successful aspirants whose names appeared on the released list to proceed to the party’s regional office in Awka on May 18 for the collection of nomination forms.
The party also announced that the sale of nomination forms would officially close on May 20, urging aspirants to complete all necessary procedures within the stipulated timeframe.
According to the statement, the National Working Committee of APGA congratulated the successful aspirants and wished them success as they prepare for the forthcoming primary elections.
The party expressed optimism that the exercise would strengthen internal democracy and ensure credible participation in the electoral process ahead of the polls.
