NDC Nasarawa North aspirant promises youth empowerment

A senatorial aspirant for the Nasarawa North bye-election under the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Arch. Duba Ishaya-Dodo, has pledged to prioritise women and youth empowerment, as well as infrastructural development, if elected.

Ishaya-Dodo made the commitment on Sunday in Lafia while speaking with journalists, noting that his decision to contest for the senatorial seat was driven by a desire to serve the people of the zone.

He said he possessed the capacity and competence required to effectively represent the senatorial district and advance its development priorities.

According to him, his agenda would focus on people-centred representation and the introduction of innovative ideas to accelerate development across Nasarawa North.

“I am going to bring a lot of things on board, mine is all about service, people-centred representation, women and youth empowerment. Generally, NDC is about service to the people; we are not just singing songs,” he said.

The aspirant urged the electorate to remain open to new political ideas, insisting that the NDC had what it takes to improve governance and address the country’s challenges.

He also cautioned voters against selling their votes, urging them instead to reject what he described as unfulfilled promises from the ruling party.

“So, I will advise every electorate not to sell their vote; they shouldn’t go for fake promises by the ruling party.

“We’ve allowed them to show us what they have but they have nothing to offer.

“NDC is here to fix Nigeria. So I advise the electorate to team up with the NDC to fix Nigeria.

”Let’s bring Nigeria back to those old days where we refer to our fallen heroes,” he said.
