Morocco Rise to 7th In FIFA Rankings ahead 2026 World Cup

Morocco national football team have climbed to seventh in the latest FIFA World Rankings, strengthening their position among the world’s top sides ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Atlas Lions moved up one place after a strong run of results in their build-up to the tournament, collecting 1,756.94 ranking points and remaining Africa’s and the Arab world’s highest-ranked team.

Their rise saw them overtake the Netherlands, who dropped in the standings following a 1-0 loss to Algeria.

Morocco’s recent form has included a 4-0 win over Madagascar, boosting momentum before the competition.

Head coach Walid Regragui’s side will face Norway in a final warm-up match before beginning their World Cup campaign against Brazil.

Morocco have been drawn in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti.

While expectations are high following their consistent progress on the global stage, Morocco will be aiming to challenge for qualification from a group widely seen as competitive, particularly their opening clash against Brazil.

The latest rankings reflect Morocco’s continued rise in international football, as they edge closer to the sport’s traditional powerhouses ahead of the tournament.
