Conference of Speakers Mourns Bauchi Lawmaker, Hon. Mohammad Wanzam

The Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hon. Mohammad Wanzam, who represented Sakwa Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly.

The condolence message was issued by the Chairman of the Conference and Speaker of the Delta House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dennis Guwor, through his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke.

Guwor described the late lawmaker’s passing as a significant loss not only to Bauchi State but also to the wider legislative family across the country.

He noted that Hon. Wanzam’s death had created a vacuum within the State Assembly and among his constituents in Sakwa.

He highlighted the late legislator’s service as Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, noting that he performed his legislative duties with dedication, discipline, and a strong commitment to public service and fiscal accountability.

On behalf of the Conference of Speakers and legislators across Nigeria’s 36 state assemblies, Guwor extended condolences to the leadership and members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, as well as to the staff of the Assembly and the people of Sakwa Constituency.

He further praised Hon. Wanzam as a lawmaker who prioritized the welfare of his constituents and made meaningful contributions to budgetary oversight during his tenure.

Praying for the repose of the deceased’s soul, Guwor asked Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

He also prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family, the people of Sakwa, and members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly to endure the loss.

“Indeed, from Allah we come and to Him we shall all return. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
