Oritsejafor Slams Buhari, Tinubu Administrations

Former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has criticised Nigeria’s recent political leadership, describing Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as “a mess”.
He also said Nigeria’s problems have persisted and worsened under President Bola Tinubu’s current administration.
Oritsejafor made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday.
He said he had warned Nigerians in 2014 ahead of the 2015 general election about the country’s direction.
According to him, public expectations at the time did not match the outcomes that followed Buhari’s assumption of office.
He argued that key national challenges were not effectively addressed during the Buhari administration.
Oritsejafor added that Nigeria’s current situation remained troubling despite changes in government.
He said worsening economic hardship and social pressure are evident across the country.
He explained that his comments were influenced by daily interactions with ordinary Nigerians.
Oritsejafor said citizens continued to face unemployment, inflation, and insecurity.
He argued that these conditions reflect deeper structural governance failures.
The cleric said religious leaders cannot ignore the suffering of the population.
Oritsejafor stressed the need for stronger accountability among political leaders.
He said public office holders must be responsible for policy outcomes and national direction.
He warned that silence from influential voices would worsen public suffering.
He added that leadership must be openly assessed based on results, not promises.
His remarks contribute to ongoing debates on governance and economic performance in Nigeria.
The discussions continue to focus on expectations from successive administrations.
They also reflect wider concerns about hardship, insecurity, and national development.
