Ochei Rallies Support After Court Ruling on NDC

The 2027 National Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Delta North, Rt. Hon. Victor O. Ochei, has reacted to the Federal High Court judgment concerning the party’s registration, describing it as a temporary setback that will be resolved through legal means.
Ochei said he received the ruling with respect for the judiciary, which he described as a vital pillar of Nigeria’s democracy, but noted that he and the party leadership disagreed with the decision and remained confident it would be addressed through due process.
While expressing solidarity with the party’s national leadership, he assured supporters that the NDC would pursue all lawful and constitutional avenues to challenge the outcome.
“I also acknowledge the position of the leadership of our great party to pursue every lawful and constitutional avenue in addressing this development, and I offer my unwavering support and solidarity,” he stated.
He urged his supporters, political associates, volunteers, and constituents in Delta North Senatorial District to remain calm and focused despite the ruling, stressing that the development should not be seen as a setback to their broader political aspirations.
“To my supporters… I urge you to remain calm, steadfast, and focused. This is not the time for anxiety or discouragement,” he said.
Ochei emphasised that democratic struggles often involve challenges, noting that temporary obstacles do not determine the final outcome of a political movement or aspiration.
He reiterated that his political ambition is rooted in the desire to provide quality representation, responsive leadership and improved opportunities for the people of Delta North and beyond.
“My aspiration has never been about politics for its own sake. It is founded on a sincere commitment to deliver quality representation, responsive leadership, and tangible opportunities,” he said.
He maintained that the core objectives of his campaign remain unchanged despite the court ruling, urging supporters to remain committed to strengthening grassroots mobilisation and community engagement.
“Let no one be distracted. The ideals of justice, service, inclusion, and good governance are far greater than any momentary obstacle,” he added.
Expressing confidence in the judiciary, Ochei said he believed the matter would eventually be resolved in favour of justice through established legal processes.
He called for unity, patience and resilience among party members and supporters, insisting that the movement remains strong and focused on its long-term goals.
He signed off his statement with the slogan: “ON NDC WE STAND.”
